Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • Author Guidelines

    Authors are required to comply with the following guidelines:

    Manuscript should have not been previously published or be under consideration for publication elsewhere.
    Research article should be 4,000 – 8,000 words, accompanied by an abstract of 150-200 words and 5 keywords. Book review should be 1,000 – 1,500 words.
    Manuscript should be typewritten using Times New Roman font, size 12, with double line spacing and Normal margin (1in all sides). Every page should be numbered.
    The submission file is in Microsoft word, RTF, or OpenOffice document file format.
    The submission should contain the author’s full name, institutional affiliation and email contact. In the case of multiple authors, one of them should be assigned as the corresponding author.
    The text adheres to the citation and bibliographic style of the Modern Language Association of America (MLA) Handbook, 8th ed.
    Headings and sub-headings of different sections should be clearly defined
    A short running title of not more than 40characters should be included.
    English is the primary language of publication, through other languages, such as Arabic and Yoruba, are occasionally represented.
    Non-English paper should have abstract and keywords in both English and the language of that paper.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

KWASU Journal of Humanities is a multidisciplinary peer-reviewed journal of the Faculty of Arts, Kwara

State University, Malete. The journal is published twice a year (June and December). The journal cuts

across various disciplines of the Humanities, such as Arabic, English, Fine Arts, French, History,

Linguistics, Literature, Performing Arts, Religions, and Yoruba.

Authors are required to comply with the following guidelines:

1. Manuscript should not have been previously published or be under consideration for publication

elsewhere.

11. The journal uses double blind review process in which the process of reviewing manuscript is based on

the anonymity of the author and the confidentiality of reviewers.

12. The Editorial Board reserves the right to edit a manuscript to make it more readable.

13. Manuscript should be submitted electronically to journalofhumanities@kwasu.edu.ng

14. Evidence of payment of Assessment Fee should be submitted along with the Manuscript through the

email address provided above. The Secretary should be alerted through 08033658062.

Charges

(1) Assessment Fee: Ten Thousand Naira (N10,00:00) only

(2) Administrative Charge: Twenty Thousand Naira (N20,000:00) only

An author is expected to pay Ten thousand naira (N10,000:00) only as Assessment Fee along with the

submission of a paper. Also, if the paper is adjudged publishable after the blind peer review and editorial

evaluations, the author shall pay and administrative charge of Twenty thousand naira (N20, 000:00) only.
